Sofía Swims Upstream

This book is about coming into adulthood.

Together, a young fish named Sofía and her turtle neighbor named Emilio determine that the question 'how you want to be when you grow up' is more important than 'what you want to be' in trying to create a meaningful existence.

While this book is a children's novel, it is meant to be read as a family. Consider the words as both reflective and thought-provoking for child and parent alike. Rooted in practices of mindfulness, author and social worker Sophia Jelsma wants readers to ask themselves not what they are doing, but how they are doing it.
